Aug 4, 2018 Nia & Nathan Saturday 4th August 2018
How did Nia and Nathan meet?
We met at work when we both worked in the kitchen at the Countryman. Nathan nagged me for months for a date, and I finally gave in to an ice cream at Fortes in Bracelet Bay. It all started from there really 🙂
How did Nathan propose to you?
2 years down the line in 2015 we got engaged. Somehow Nathan managed to get the ring all the way out to Turkey without me knowing (even though I am a stress packer and check the suitcase over and over). He told me he was meant to save the proposal for a boat trip one night, but he could not wait any longer, so he got down on one knee at the pool side one evening with cocktails flowing! I will never live down the fact I told him to get back on his chair 😂 but of course, I said YES!
How did you find the wedding planning process?
We found wedding planning great! Very exciting 🙂 we started early as I didn’t want to be too stressed, however we learnt that however early you start, it will be stressful in the run up to the wedding 😂 we did as much as we could by ourselves such as the favours etc. We had great fun making them all!
How did you choose your theme?
It took me a while to choose between three different colours for bridesmaids, table decor etc. I ended up choosing the coral colour as I felt it fitted in well with the month, we were getting married. It worked perfectly, and everything fitted in so well, from chair covers to bridesmaids to flowers! 🙂
How did you choose our deco?
I knew from the start what I wanted really. I wanted a formal day but with a more relaxed feel. I don’t like too much fuss. So, I went for subtle and natural 🙂 We had mainly hessian with lots of floral deco etc. It worked so well, and everything looked fantastic at Ocean View!
Best advice for future couples?
In the lead up to the wedding, what will be will be….
Don’t stress!! (I cannot stress this enough 😉)
And most of all, enjoy every minute of planning because the day flies by in the blink of an eye!
